The key differentiators for this product are Fincepta's intense focus on risk use cases, the gaps it has filled based on their industry experience and its offering as a customized solution vs. a generalized product.

    Ankit, before starting Fincepta, led and scaled data science, risk & operations teams for US-based fintech & proptech startups. Prior to that, he built heavily regulated models, strategies & quant products for credit cards, investments & wealth management at BofA & Merrill Lynch for a decade.

    Role Details:

    Data Science Intern will be working with our senior data scientist to develop a data intensive product for the US based credit & lending industry. Intern will mainly work hands on doing data cleaning, classification problems, machine learning & gen AI applications. Intern will also help with documentation & presentations regarding the product.

    Responsibilities:

    • Understand, clean, collate & operationalize data from multiple financial data sources
    • Apply text mining techniques, NLP & gen AI to classify & contextualise text data
    • Assist team in productionalizing the analysis with a clean code & building an api using flask
    • Document the process & product details in technical and non-technical documents
    • Perform ad-hoc data analysis & market research on a case by case basis

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years completed in an undergraduate program (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related program) from top university or college
    • Familiar with Python and relevant libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn, etc.)
    • Demonstration of completing projects with fixed objective through course projects or past internships
    • Capability & willingness to clean & transform data into a more usable form
    • Understanding of data science process flow & advanced statistics, machine learning & AI concepts
    • Knowledge of SQL querying and any of the cloud computing platforms
    • Ability to clearly communicate approach, insights & recommendations
    • Deep interest in the financial services & technology industry
